Report Photo Mode
I've talked about it a lot in this period between preview and review of the game. You can find everything here if you want to read what I think of the game.
Nor Vanek, elite soldier of the Coalition army, sent to repel the undead army raging in front of a large door. Soon things will degenerate and become bigger than us. The Gate to the Great Abyss is opened, unleashing the gods and their armies of the dead. The lands of Kian are besieged, the city of Alba is on the brink of destruction. For the Coalition army it is time for a counterattack. With revenge, gunpowder and magic you will set off on an epic journey to defeat the gods, close the Door and reconquer the world.
For those who played the Demo Steam were able to immediately see how to use it.
Activate Photo Mode: Can be activated from the pause menu and go down to the Photo mode item. The reaction time is good even if there is a delay of hundredths of seconds.
Camera freedom: vote 9
Excellent maneuverability and distance. You can select the free camera or the orbital on Enki. In the several hours of play I have never had the need to activate the latter. You can cover very long distances if you are looking for landscape and there is no problem getting very close with the risk of crossing the character. The only flaw found are game elements such as walls or floors that completely block movement.
Camera adjustment: vote 7
inclination blocked at 90 degrees both to the right and to the left. The rotation angle is precise and adjusting it from an angle does not change the keys in any way. Works well.
Aperture and focus adjustment: vote 6
Depth of field has 2 adjustments. Mode activation, selection distance and intensity. One works simple but does its job well.
The distance is adjusted numerically and the intensity has a percentage value. I don't think there is much to add but for beginners it will certainly be good.
Ability to change the character: vote 7
It is possible to hide or make visible various characters on the screen. You can make Enki or Nor or NPCs or even all of them visible. It is not possible to adjust main characters in any way. This is a big lack because Enki works as a free character and it is not always easy to position him properly in the shot.
Brightness and contrast adjustments: vote 6
In the display mode there are 4 functions including brightness, contrast, definition and saturation. Each of them with a value between 0 and 100.
They are excellent additions but unfortunately very basic because the brightness, even in extremely light environments, never reaches absolute white as the same goes for black in dark environments. The definition is a nice choice among the options because it makes the subject clear and if you put it to the maximum, with the black and white filter, you can give a watermark effect rendering.
Filters: vote 5
Only 2 filters have been inserted: black and white and sepia effect. Both can be adjusted in intensity.
Frames: vote 7
4:3 format, 1:1 square, Daguerreotype, cinematic. It is also possible to insert the color of the frame between black and white with relative intensity. There are no fancy frames or others.
Logo: vote 7
It is possible to insert the coloured, all white or all black logo by adjusting its size and position. It's been a while since anyone paid attention to inserting the logo into Photo Mode. Too bad there is no possibility to rotate it, especially in vertical shots.
The game has a lot to say artistically and the immediate presence of a Photo Mode is welcome. The nature of the soulslite, scenarios and combat system make each shot unique and cover-worthy. Overall it is too simple and basic for the current market. It would require a complete overhaul and a functional upgrade of options.
