God of War

Report Photo Mode

It has been several years since Kratos finally took his much-desired revenge against the gods of Olympus, at his side is now his young son Atreus, with whom he will have to go on a long journey in order to honor the Faye's last dying wish: that her ashes be scattered in Jötunheim, the land of giants.

Activate Photo Mode: Left side central button

Camera freedom: vote 7

The Santa Monica's graphics engine allows us to go into detail. The polygons are solid and you can get as close to Kratos and Atreus as you like. If you are looking for close-ups or looking for details, this is the game for you. Unfortunately you will have to struggle to create landscapes because the camera is really attached to Kratos. Even using the angle of view you won't increase the distance much. The realization of the latter does not deform the frame and is good.interesting details.

Camera adjustment: vote 8

Camera rotation is set at 180 ° but you can safely turn over. Very few photo fashions can boast of this possibility.

By connecting with the freedom of movement of the camera, once it reaches a certain angle it becomes locked. After 70 °, the adjustment on the X axis, from right to left, is no longer feasible but it moves on the Y axis, as if we were using the up and down buttons of the joypad. As you increase to about 130 °, you begin to return to normal settings. I have found myself many times having to take vertical shots and to make small adjustments, I would go back to 0 ° and then angle myself again.

Aperture and focus adjustment: vote 10

We have 3 adjustment functions, simple and very well done both on long and short distance.

-The depth of field can be set on a personal level on the characters that interest us such as Kratos, Atreus and other numbered characters. A great targeted and functional comfort.

-Focus distance perfectly envelops the characters and the game world I invite you to try it. The yield is almost perfect.

-The aperture adjusts from f / 1.4 to f / 32.0 and works like a camera. By setting to f / 1.4 in addition to having a complete and minimal closure of the details we also have an indentation of the light in the lowest shot.

Ability to change the character: vote 8

16 possible variations of the face from the funniest to the most serious. It is possible to modify Kratos and Atreus. It is possible to individually show or remove the characters and enemies of your choice. The only thing missing is the ability to change the character.

Brightness and contrast adjustments: vote 7

Exposure is the only function inserted in conjunction with film grain. The light adjustment works very well without distorting the shot too much. It is an exposure that works well but must always be used in conjunction with filters.

Filters: vote 8

12 filters have been inserted and all interesting together with the possibility of adjusting their intensity. I will not be explaining how they work but each of them guarantees a different possibility according to the situation you are in: if you need to increase some brightness or contrast factors you will find it, if you need a more realistic effect you can choose, etc. .. Adjust always the intensity according to the exposure and you will have unique shots.

Frames: vote 8

10 selected edges including the most important 2: 1, cinematic, 4: 3, 1: 1, 9:16. Both black and white version of the Nordic braid and three settings for the pinstripe version.

Logo: vote 6

It is the game logo that can be inserted in 6 specific points of the shot: 3 on the top side and 3 on the bottom side. It is not possible to make any changes other than those mentioned.

Vignetting: It is possible to adjust its intensity and attenuation. It is very well accepted as a setting and even these small variations.

Artistically the game is gorgeous and this will stand out from your shots whether they are very close-ups or landscape. Even the less experienced in using it will be at ease. I hope they give the camera more freedom in the following.
